THESIS PROJECT

My master thesis project focuses on designing a multi-use residential development in Miami’s Design District that provides affordable housing and cultural support for low-income families, particularly within the Haitian community. Located at 4100 NE 2nd Avenue, this project addresses the challenges of gentrification by incorporating sustainable, culturally inclusive design elements, affordable housing units, and community spaces that foster resilience, mental well-being, and cultural pride. By involving residents in the design process and prioritizing environmental sustainability, the development aims to preserve the neighborhood’s heritage while empowering residents to thrive within a rapidly changing urban landscape.
